The cube sat is a compact satellite measuring exactly one liter (10 cm cube). Current use of the cube sat is mainly for education as a hands-on project from lower education to introduce science and engineering into the classroom. Much of the research and development of the cube sat comes from higher academic facilities, like California Polytechnic State University and Standford University where the goal is to use the cube sat for future space exploration.
